How it works

Forward it and forget it.

You forward paperwork to one address as it arrives, and on the day you picked, Hive zips the month and emails it to your accountant.

The whole loop, in four steps

Two of the steps are yours, and neither takes more than a few seconds. The other two are Honey Hive's.

  1. Get your addressYours

When you sign up you get a forwarding address of your own. That is the only thing you need to remember.

  2. Feed it during the monthYours

Forward invoices as they land. For recurring vendors like your hosting provider, set an auto-forward rule once and stop thinking about them. For paper receipts, snap a photo and send it in.

  3. Send dayHive

On the day you chose, any day from the 1st to the 28th, Hive zips everything it collected that month together with the invoice PDFs you issued in Honey.

  4. Your accountant gets one emailHive

Zip attached, with a plain-language summary. They don't need an account, a login, or anything to install.

Send day, in detail

Send day is the one setting that matters. You choose it once, and it is the same every month unless you change it.

Example: send day set to the 14th. Pick any day from the 1st to the 28th.

  • Any day from the 1st to the 28th

Pick the date that suits your accountant, or the one that suits you. It stays inside the range every month has, so there is no month where it quietly skips.

  • Sending starts at 6am, your time

The clock that counts is your timezone, not ours. Sending begins from 6am local time on your send day, so it is on its way before your working day is.

  • The package covers the whole month

Everything collected goes into one zip: forwarded invoices, photographed receipts, and the invoices you issued as PDFs. One email, one attachment, nothing to assemble.

When a receipt turns up late

A vendor invoices you two days after send day. A receipt falls out of a jacket pocket. Forward it or photograph it as usual.

Hive sends an automatic supplement email to your accountant with the late document attached. Nothing is silently dropped, and nothing has to be resent by hand.

Delivery, briefly

  • Exactly once

Each monthly package is sent one time. Your accountant never gets the same month twice.

  • Retries with backoff

If delivery fails, Honey Hive tries again, waiting longer between attempts instead of hammering the mail server.

  • You're told

If the package can't be delivered, you get an alert. You never have to check whether the month went out.

What Honey Hive doesn't do

  • It is not accounting software.
  • It doesn't compute your taxes.
  • It doesn't replace your accountant.

It gets the paperwork to the person who does that work, in one email, on a day you both know in advance.
