Numbers go up by one each time
Send an invoice and it gets the next number, simple as that. #41, then #42, then #43.

Numbering starts over each year
On January 1st, the count restarts at 1. Last year's invoices stay exactly as they were.

Drafts don't count
A number is only given once you actually send the invoice. Deleting a draft never leaves a gap.

Cancelled invoices stay visible
Cancelling one doesn't delete it or skip its number. It just gets marked cancelled, so the record stays clear.
Everything ends up in one place
Invoices you send go out as PDFs, and each one is automatically saved next to the receipts you've forwarded through Hive that month.
When it's time to send everything to your accountant, those invoices are already included. You don't have to go find them or attach them separately.
